If you buy this Poe book, you will never need to repurchase another. It is a vast collection of his most significant and rarest works. You would need to purchase multiple books to get close to the number of poems and tales in this one. I have yet to weigh this book, but it's a heavy edition, especially considering its page count of over 930. If you are looking for a master compendium of Mr. Poe's works that cover the extent of his entire career, this would undoubtedly be the book. I have cross-referenced this printing on multiple copywrite sites to confirm it is, in fact, the original 1st edition from the publisher. They don't make them this good anymore, and they never will. I would snag this one before it's gone...

This edition, published in 1927, is a remarkable literary treasure that brings together the entire collection of Poe's writings in a single volume. This first edition from the publisher is a testament to the enduring appeal and genius of one of America's most celebrated authors. With its intricate design, extensive content, and historical significance, this book offers an unparalleled glimpse into the world of Edgar Allan Poe.

This extraordinary edition encompasses nine volumes within a single book, making it a comprehensive compilation of Poe's literary legacy. Each page invites readers to delve into the dark and mysterious realms that Poe skillfully crafted through his prose and poetry. With over 930 pages, this collection showcases more than 125 works, including his most renowned tales and poems, making it an invaluable resource for both scholars and enthusiasts alike.

One of the notable features of this edition is its intricately tooled cover and spine. The front cover presents a beautiful double griffin royal embossment, symbolizing the fusion of mythical creatures and the regal spirit of Poe's writings. The attention to detail in the design reflects the significance of this edition as a work of art, perfectly complementing the literary brilliance within.

Historical Significance:

With a diverse range of genres and themes, Poe's writings continue to captivate readers with their dark atmospheres, psychological depth, and mesmerizing language.

The overall condition of this book is very good for an edition that is nearing a century in age. It has some light shelf wear, but the covers remain in very beautiful condition. The pages have some light age toning, and there are some light reading use and age, but they have been very well-preserved. I have owned a few of these over the years, but this is certainly one of the nicest I have ever seen.
