Top edges are gilded. Rag style paper. Wide margins. Engraved plates protected in tissue. Printed in English. 8.75 inches tall. 30 inches of shelf space. In excellent condition. The hinges are all attached, there is some starting, held firmly by the underlying cords. Internally very fresh, bright, and clean. Near free of any trace of foxing. Some general wear and abrasion to the spines. An impressive collection of Eugene Sue's works. Called the "king of the popular novel," one of the most widely read writers of melodramatic fiction in 19th-century France. An important addition to any antiquarian library.
