The publisher states in a page to rear, "Further volumes will be issued monthly until the edition is complete." In all, 28 volumes were published. Tropic of Cancer 1961 - Book Creaks when opened. Cover Near Fine, bottom of spine dented & spine bends outward slightly in the middle, edges of spine rubbed along front, front tips of corners very slightly rubbed. Small red penciel mark on exterior pages of book at bottom (not a remainder). 3. Black Spring 1963 Inside Fine, some page tips got bent on the bottom. Cover Fine, Front & back edges of spine worn. Fourteen volumes in original hardcovers. Series 1: volumes 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26. 1896-1914. Generally condition runs from Good to Very Good plus. These are heavy volumes that are prone to binding failures when handled improperly. Some of these volumes are sound, some strengthened with new endpapers, some where binding is starting. None have failed bindings. The earlier volumes show more general wear to the boards than later volumes. I have prepared a more complete condition report on each volume so feel free to inquire. Gemstone Publishing, 2006. 4 vols. in slipcase. Very Good in Good slipcase. Slipcase shows shelf and handling wear with rubbed corners, edge wear, and light soiling. Four volumes: Crime Illustrated (Adult Suspense Stories), Confession Illustrated (Adult Romances), Adult Tales of Terror Illustrated (Horror and Suspense), and Shock Illustrated (Adult Crime Stories). All four volumes show very minor shelf and handling wear to their covers with some minor abrasion to the spines as well. Interiors are all crisp, clean, and pristine with no marks. In the gutter of every volume in both the front and the back there is a long thin adhesive bleed-through from production. Overall a clean, solid set showing minimal signs of use.
