Contemporary half calf with six spine compartments between raised bands. Gilt-tooled leather labels in second and fourth compartments with title and volume number. Marbled paper over boards; all page edges marbled. Marbled endpapers. Copyright 1858 by Geo. P. Putnam & Co. Bookplate on front fixed endpaper of the Hesslein Library, Philadelphia College of Textiles and Sciences. Contents: Freeholder -- The Plebeian by Richard Steele with The Old Whig by Addison -- The Lover. In Very Good- Condition: binding is rubbed; leather is scraped; residue of old library circulation material on back endpapers; otherwise, clean and tight.
