Robert and Andrew Foulis, Printers to the University, 1775. First Thus. Leather Binding. Very Good. 7 volumes, as issued 1775-1776. This tasteful Foulis pocket-sized edition is beautifully and uniformly bound in full polished brown calf of the period, spines feature twin red morocco labels, and gilt-tooled musical and floral motifs and repeated gilt rules, marbled endpapers (spines have minor wear and some trifling nicks, boards have light wear; there is some trifling dampstaining to uppermost text corners). A delightful and attractive little set in period dress, entirely unrestored. PROVENANCE: From the library of of William Hughes of Widcombe, with his neat ownership inscriptions in each volume.
