London: Chatto & Windus. Fair. Hard Cover. 5" By 7¾" Tall ca 1875. Original brown clot with gilt design on cover and spine. Gilt lettering on spine. Top half inch of spine is missing. Cover is rubbed, bumped and worn (most edges). 2" tear at spine side. Name plate on front paste down. 3 lines of previous owners details on half title. Occasional foing. 640pp; numerous plates by Gustave Dore. This edition was first issued by Hotten in 1871; this issue, undated, has ads dated July 1875. .
