Set of 3 Black cloth with beige boards. No Dust Jackets. 1. Tropic of Capricorn 1961 - Cover Near Fine, a scratch on the black. Inside Like New/Tight Binding. 2. Tropic of Cancer 1961 - Book Creaks when opened. Cover Near Fine, bottom of spine dented & spine bends outward slightly in the middle, edges of spine rubbed along front, front tips of corners very slightly rubbed. Small red penciel mark on exterior pages of book at bottom (not a remainder). 3. Black Spring 1963 Inside Fine, some page tips got bent on the bottom. Cover Fine, Front & back edges of spine worn. Has a dedication to Anais Nin. Pub. by Grove Press.

London : Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, & Brown, and Taylor & Hessey, 1822 A scarce copy of the 1st edition of this work in 2 volumes in the original publisher's boards. The title page states that the work was 'by a young lady. Also by her father' - the young lady in question was Mary Roberts (related to the Mary Roberts of natural history fame). It was sold by subscription. This copy has a small ink signature of Mary Alderson to both volumes - who is possibly related to one of the subscribers - Revd. J Alderson. The publisher's binding is in very poor condition - it was not intended to last - and the contents are untrimmed - awaiting proper binding. London: Printed and published by W.E. Andrews, 1827 Book. Fair. Hardcover. [i], iii, 460 pages. Browned and stained throughout, very heavily in places. In old half leather, but front board detached and rear board only holding on by a cord. Ink stamped owner's name of J Restraux Jun [?] to the front free end paper. Pages 31/2 have the outer upper corner cut away and there is a tear in the page at 397/8..

Very slight tinge of toning, else, appears as lightly read, near unblemished copy in white decorated (printed) on maroon cloth boards displaying moderate surface/edge wear, as shown.
