A very smart, late 19th century copy of the works of William Shakespeare, handsomely bound in prize binding for King's Lynn High School. A lovely copy of the complete works of William Shakespeare, taken from the texts of the first folio, and the quartos. By the editor of the "Chandos" Classics.Published by Frederick Warne, the Albion Edition of this work. Including a frontispiece portrait of Shakespeare. Handsomely bound in full calf prize binding for King's Lynn High School, with their gilt coat of arms to the front board. Containing a prize bookplate to the front pastedown: 'King's Lynn High School, Prize for Second Place in Form IVa, Awarded to Marianne Stibbon, Presented by The Mayoress Headmistress E. Harrison, 11 May 1906'. Also containing a loosely inserted post card addressed to 'Miss M. Stibbon' from a 'Betty Taylor'. Handsomely bound in full calf prize binding, with gilt detailing to the boards and spine. Externally, very smart, with some minor shelf wear and a few marks to the front board, and rubbing to the joints and head and tail of the spine. A few small scuffs to the read board. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. A few spots to the first and last few pages, and the odd spot throughout, otherwise pages are generally bright and clean. Very Good
