London: Gilbert Cownly, 1686. [16], 436pp. Later (mid-nineteenth century) full morocco, raised bands, spine in six panels, author / title in gilt to second, remaining panels with gilt central diamond made up of four tulip heads, with volute corner pieces, covers with central panel design with volute internal corner pieces and floral external corner pieces, gilt roll to edges and inner dentelles, a.e.g. comb and curl marbled endpapers. Very minor rubbing to extremities, internally some light browning and spotting but generally fairly clean. Previous owners bookplate to front pastedown, with another previous owners name to head of title, engraved frontispiece. Binding is J[ohn] Clarke, with his stamp to reverse of front marbled endpaper, who was described by Ramsden as "one of the best and most prolific of the London binders of the period". Wing T422. Reprint. Full Morocco. Very Good. 8vo.
