Clean, sound copy but for a tender front hinge beginning to split, bumped tips, scattered age-spotting. Old ink name general title page. Charles R. and George Webster Albany 1791-1792 8vo. Contemporary calf with gilt leather spine label. Albany collection of Paine's writings, nine parts in one volume: 1. Common Sense, 1791, 60 pp. (blank). 2. The Crisis, 1792, 186 pp. 3. Public Good, N.d., 41 pp. 4. Letter Addressed to the Abbe Raynal, N.d., 70 pp. (blank). Letters by the Author of Common Sense, 1792, 24 pp. (blank). 9. Rights of Man, N.d. Fourth American Edition, 124 pp. With general title page, one-page advertisement, and eight-page list of subscribers such as Elbridge Gerry, James Madison, and De Witt Clinton. This copy's parts are not in the same order as stated on general title with Public Good after the Crisis but all parts called for are present, each with its own title page except Parts 5-8 which share a title page. Scarce with general-title, ad, subscriber's list, in contemporary binding. Eighteenth-century American printings of Paine's works growing scarcer.
