Denver, CO: The Old West Publishing Co., 1947. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Ramona Bowman. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, green cloth boards decorated in yellow on front and spine exterior shows minor scuffing and bumps to the cloth covers as well as edges and corners. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues though there is a slight pulling at the title page and frontispiece. Pages are toned due to age but are clean. Pictorial end pages and front and rear are clear of any handwriting or bookplates. Also included between the pages was a typed letter from Lynn Pierson and dated September 2, 1995. This may just be a letter from one relative to another but as it was found carefully tucked between the pages it will stay with the book.

Includes bio of Linford, chapters in the book, etc. Linford studied under a famous group of historians: Grace Hebard, LeRoy Hafen, Frederic Paxson, & Herbert Bolton. This book was a textbook for 7th - 9th graders, but it was written & published in a time when that age group had meaty material to study, & this one is not only meaty, but engagingly written.
