The red covers are bright, except for a faded spot at the bottom of the spine where the dust jacket is chipped and has failed to protect. The dust jacket is in Good + condition, with light wear and chipping overall, but heavier wear and missing paper at the top and bottom of the spine area. The list of books in the X-Bar-X series on the front flap of the dust jacket does not include this title, so this is a first, or very early printing of the first edition. The list of Lone Ranger titles on the back flap ends with "The Lone Ranger Traps the Smugglers" and the list of Hardy Boys titles on the back panel ends with "The Mystery of the Flying Express
