About This Item
Lhasa: Lasa ge ming zao fan zong bu xuan chuan zu 拉薩革命造反总部宣传组, 1968. Pamphlet. 44p., mimeographed sheets neatly folded and stapled together at left, blank cover sheet has a personal ownership inscription dated August 16, 1968 (same name also penned on title page). Numerical musical notation and lyrics are provided for all songs. Many of the songs are standards of the Red Guard movement shared around the country, but others are of specific local relevance, mentioning high mountains and other Tibetan features. See photo for a song about Tibetan-Han Chinese ethnic solidarity. Not found in OCLC as of July 2023; rather scarce. The issuing group, the Lhasa Revolutionary Rebel Headquarters, commonly known as Gyenlo, was one of the two main factions of Red Guards (the other being Nyamdre) that did almost as much damage to one another on as they did to the traditional Tibetan culture around them.
