Autobiography of the World War II fighter Ace (357th Fighter Group) & post war test pilot who broke the sound barrier. Tipped-in on the front end papers is a description of C.E. "Bud" Anderson's military career & opposite that is a signed b/w photo of Anderson. He was Yeager's wing man in the 357th F.G. & was an Ace with 16.25 kills & won the DFC (5), Bronze Star, Air Medal, Legion of Merit, etc. On the half-title p. is tipped-in a signed b/w photo of Hermann Buchner, Luftwaffe Ace w/58 kills, 12 as a Me 262 German jet pilot. The 357th FG flew against the German Me 262 jets. The book is NOT signed by Yeager. Half-cloth bound hard cover book in good to v.g. cond. The d/w is good w/lt. edge wear & some wear to the head & heel of the spine. There is some bleed thru the p. from Buchner's photo to the t.p.
