Rabkin was a high general in the IDF and followed Golda Meir as prime minister,becoming the 5th PM of Israel. He was awareded the Nobel Peace prize with others, following the signing of the Oslo peach agreement. He was assassinated in November 1995 by a right-wing Israel student fanatic opposed to the Oslo agreement.
