About This Item

Bibliotheque Nationale de France, 2001. 1st Edition. Paperback. Very Good. Softcover, neither ex-library nor marked as a remainder. Binding is strong and all leaves are in place. Text is free of markings and highlighting; no dog-ears. Exterior has light shelf wear. 32 pp., illustrated. Text in French. Yo Claux (born in France in 1954) is an engraver, visual artist, choreographer and photographer. She develops a meditation on time and impermanence. Since 1996, photography has taken on a growing importance in his work, and his favorite theme is the world of scientific laboratories. His first trip to Japan, in 1998, was truly dazzling. The kaleidoscopic image, a true visual metaphor for the alchemy of life, imposes itself on her: "I observed a flower which really opens like an objective, and in the same direction. The structure of plants, flowers, is itself kaleidoscopic. We can talk about geometry, time, play... You just need to move a little for it to open up differently, and you see something else. This work was published on the occasion of the exhibition “Yo Claux. Kaleidoscope of Japan" , presented by the Bibliothèque nationale de France in the Crypt of the Richelieu site, from March 13 to 25, 2001. Heavy books or multi-volume sets will require additional postage. Send me a message before purchase if you want a quote; otherwise, I will contact you after purchase with the final shipping price.
