Gerome, and other eminent artists; consisting of Architecture, Sculpture, Portraits, Fac-similes, Seals, Coins, Weapons, Works of Art, Antiquities, Progress of Culture, Historical Scenes, Etc., Etc. Together with a Sieries of Beautiful Colored Maps by A. Keith Johnson. A translation by H.W. Dulcken of the author's "Illustrirte Weltgeschichte für das Volk", 2.auf ., Leipzig, 1878-84, in 142 parts, or 1881-84, in 8 vols. Brown cloth with black & gilt design and gilt lettering.; floral endpapers. A near fine and uncommon set (minor wear & rubbing to extremities; light bumping to corner tips; faint white line on rear cover of Vol. 7; ffep in Vol. 7 creased; bump to lower front and rear edges of Vol. 8).
