The covers are creased and soiled with chipping at the corners and tears along the spine. 64 pages, numbered from [769] to 832, preceded by 16 pages of ads and a 7 page index covering the issues contained within the run of the periodical's 9th volume. The corners of the first few pages are creased and lightly chipped. Good. <p>Among the contents is a 7-page essay complete in two parts entitled "From Cambodia to China". Also includes a 4 page review of Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem "Gareth and Lynette" entitled "The Last of the Arthurian Legends".

The binding is fairly tight, and the contents are unmarked. This edition contains the 1854 London Volumes XI & XII, with their original title pages, with the single Lippincott 1856 title page placed at the front for the U.S. edition.
