Handwritten name to ffe and again,in ink,with date (Xmas 1916) to top corner to verso of frntis.Matt,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,publisher's original,red cloth boards/ covers with a uniform blind-tooled design of St. George on horseback killing a dragon within a ribboned,circular seal; surrounded by repeated heraldic-style lions,the whole with a double-line blind-tooled border to front board/cover,blind-tooled,lightly dulled spine/backstrip with bright,crisp,stamped gilt lettering,rear board/cover with repeated heraldic lions designs within the same lined border and grey-line illustrated grey endpapers with off-set shadowing from opposing pastedowns to verso and recto of front and rear free endpapers respectively, hinges solid and sound without any cracking.Front board/cover with three small mottled/bleached areas/spots towards its top edge.Top edges of rear free endpaper with a diagonal corner crease with a small portion of loss to same crease.With negligible shelf-wear,bumping,creasing to edges and corners - no nicks,tears,splits or fraying present.Top+fore-edges very lightly aged/toned - much less than normally encountered or would expect for a book of its age and with minimal blemishes and no foxing/ spotting to top edges but minimal foxing/spotting to fore-edges; contents bright,tight,clean - some minimal sporadic foxing/spotting to text body,no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners,would appear unread - apart from my own collation.UK,8vo HB,no dw/dj,reprint,1st thus,3-336pp[paginated] includes author preface,contents list/table,colour frntis by W. Since April 2013 and in March 2015,again in this year too,the UK Post Office has altered it's Pricing in Proportion template,altering it's prices,weight allowances,dimensions and lowered it's qualifying compensation rates too!
