The Folio Society, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No Edition Remarks. 156 pages. No dust jacket. Illustrated paper covered boards with a pink spine strip and gilt. No slipcase included, if issued. Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Heavier tanning to text block edges. Previous owner's inscription to front free end-paper. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering is darkened. Sunning to spine. Damps stains to cloth. Mild crushing to spine ends.
Synopsis
Oscar Wilde is best known as the author of The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Importance of Being Earnest, but the witty man was also a wonderful and imaginative teller of fairy tales.
