About This Item
Signed. First Edition. Very Good / very good. Hank Williams died in 1953 at age 29. Ground breaking biography by the late Chet Flippo, one of the best music journalists of all time. The book has minor bumps on the corners and there's been a little moisture on the bottom causing slight warpage, but no stain. The dust jacket has shelf wear and edgewear and a half inch tear at the bottom front cover. There is also a half inch tear at the fold on the bottom front flap. However, the book appears to be nearly unread. The inscription says "To Pam, because Monk says you're worth it". I don't know who Pam is but I believe that Monk is the author's wife, Martha Hume Flippo, also a celebrated country music journalist. I can't swear to that though. The author has dated, inscribed and signed on the front free end page.
