Signed by Philip Jose Farmer with a wonderful inscription, "For Walt, one of the fabulous people whom I hope to meet on the banks of The River and with whom I'll embark on the fabulous Riverboat on its 20,000,000 mile journey into forever, [signed] Philip Jose Farmer", Bound in publisher's original black cloth stamped in blind on upper board and lettered in gilt on the spine. Near Fine with light lean to binding, light soiling to cloth and wear at corners, pages mildly tanned. In a Near Fine unclipped dust jacket with light wear at extremities, scratched indent across pine near center, tanning and light soiling to blindside. The first title in Farmer's Riverworld series and winner of the 1972 Hugo Award.
Synopsis
To Your Scattered Bodies Go (1971) is a science fiction novel and the first book in the Riverworld series of books by Philip José Farmer. It won a Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1972 at the 30th Worldcon. The title is derived from the 7th of the "Holy Sonnets" by English poet John Donne: At the round earth's imagin'd corners, blowYour trumpets, angels, and arise, ariseFrom death, you numberless infinitiesOf souls, and to your scattered bodies go.
