Good/Issued Without d/j. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 428 pp. Containing Tales, Biography, Descriptive Geography, Natural History, Philosophy and Poetry. These are the original, not facsimile, issues in a contemporary cloth hardcover binding. Vol. I, No. 1 (May, 1837) thru Vol. I, No. 12 (April, 1838). An early example of a literary magazine aimed at America's youth. Book binding very solid, virtually no foxing to the pp., spine has a leather & paper label on it, spine faded, lt. wear to head of spine. Altogether good+ cond.
