London: Longman, Brown, Green & Longmans, 1845. Finely bound in full dark green crushed morocco stamp signed "Bound by Zaehnsdorf", the covers with central gilt stamped wreaths and a single red rose at each corner, the back with five raised bands with a single gilt rose in each compartment, all edges gilt, wide inner dentelles stamped with gilt flowers, marbled end papers, and bearing the Zaehnsdorf gilt exhibition stamp at bottom rear dentelle, indicating this book was featured in a fine binding exhibition in the 1890s. Very Good Plus, the back uniformly sunned to brown, light wear at top edges of hinges and spine, light rubbing at the corners. Lovely and elegant in its simplicity. . First Edition. Crushed Morocco. Very Good Plus/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
