New York: Brentano's, 1934. First Edition. Hardcover. Good+. 6.75 x 9.25 inches, 153 pp, with color frontis by Napolitano and 16 unnumbered b/w plates reproducing works by Picasso, Kandinsky, Braque, Klee, and others. Yellow paper over boards. Wear/chipping to spine, edges worn and lightly toned. Binding sound, but webbing slightly exposed between front free endpaper and half-title page. Inscribed "To Arthur Millier, an artist, a critic, a friend" in Louis Danz's hand, and signed beneath by Danz, Merle Armitage, and the book's printer, Lynton R. Kistler. Millier was art critic for the Los Angeles Times for more than three decades, beginning in the mid-1920s, and was a close friend to Armitage and Danz.
