About This Item
Estes and Lauriat, 1885. A fantastic entry from the Zigzag adventure series, which aimed to "awaken an interest in the history, geography, and political condition of each country of which they treat, by means of a narrative of supposed travel, that makes a visit to interesting places the purpose of the young travelers. It is hoped that the light narrative, with its pictures, legends, and interpolated stories, may awaken an interest in the young mind that will lead to the reading of more solid books on the same countries and topics, as maturer years follow the story-loving period of youth." Full title of this entry: "Zigzag Journeys in Acadia and New France A Summers Journey of the Zigzag Club Through the Historic Fields of the Early French Settlements of America." Full color illustrated covers, front and rear. Illustrated throughout, from decorated endpapers to full page engravings. Covers show some wear and soil, corners are heavily worn, some chipping along spine. Pages a bit browned, overall very clean. Former owner's name present in pencil. 7 x 8.5 inches with 320 pages. . Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Illustrated.
