Original printed wrappers, frayed, paper spine with contemporary manuscript lettering, worn, remnants of label removed from half-title, signature to title, first few leaves with small stains in margins. Withal, a good copy, entirely untrimmed, preserved in the original state. ~ FIRST EDITION. Joachim Ménant (1820-1899) was a French magistrate and Orientalist. He studied law and became vice-president of the civil tribunal of Rouen and a member of the appeals court. He published many works on Assyriology and is best known for his studies on cuneiform inscriptions. I-4 IN
