Descriptive Accounts of George Heriot's Hospital, Rosslyn Chapel, and Holyrood House: -- 3 Edinburgh books, bound as one volume

This offering is for three 19th Century titles relating to Edinburgh and its environs. The three books are commonly bound as one volume (quarter bound leather). The physical size of the book is 8.75 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide. Interior page size is 0.25 inch smaller on each dimension (8.5 x 5.25).
The titles are:
1) Historical and Descriptive Account of George Heriot's Hospital, Including a Memoir of the Founder, Cunningham and Johnstone, 1827.
9 plates, including the engraved title page, followed by 44 pages of text.
2) Description of Rosslyn Chapel and Castle. No title page or publisher's attribution. Undated.
8 plates, followed by 16 pages of text.
3) Historical and Descriptive Account of the Palace and Chapel-Royal of Holyroodhouse. Cunningham and Johnstone, 1826
9 plates, including an engraved dedication page and title page, followed by 42 pages of text.
For all three titles, condition of the interior pages is Good. Text pages are unmarked, with occasional light foxing. There is light offsetting opposite the plates that mostly affects the tissue guards.
The binding is sound, with all pages firmly attached. There is a condition issue with the exterior leather. The leather has cracked at the board joints. The joints have been repaired, with a double thickness of rice paper added to the hinge at the front and back endpapers. The repair strengthens the board joints, but I would still characterize them as "tender".
The attached photos show:
1) Front view of book
2) Side view of book
3) Endpaper repair
4) Heriot title page
5) Heriot plate
6) Rosslyn plate
7) Holyroodhouse title page
8) Holyroodhouse plate

Description:
Indianapolis: Dog Ear Publishing, January 2013. Trade Paperback. Fine. Slight reading wear to corners, otherwise pristine. Not from a library. No remainder mark. Not clipped. Not damaged. Suitable for gifting. 163 pages. The 25 authors of this book were volunteers in the first Peace Corps rural community development project in Africa: Sierra Leone, 1965-67. They are also the first group to tell a collective story of Peace Corps volunteers, anywhere. The Peace Corps was in its infancy then, and memories of John Kennedy were strong among the young volunteers. Sierra Leone was also in its infancy in the first few years after independence, before military coups and tribal warfare became common. The authors forthrightly recount their feelings of loneliness and isolation, and their frightening experiences with secret societies and witchcraft, but their uniquely optimistic "can-do" American attitude brought most through a great life experience.

London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme & Brown, 1823. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. pp: [viii]ix-xii [1]2-544. FIRST EDITION. Bound in brown half-leather over marbled boards, title in gilt within a red title piece. The first edition of the author's first book. William Wilson (1772-1849) inherited a substantial sum from an uncle, and decided to indulge his passion for travel. He travelled throughout Europe and The Middle East and wrote a series of books. This was his first, and it was the most popular, going through several editions. This is a good copy as all plates, including the frontispiece, have been excised. The boards show moderate wear, heavier at the spine ends. The front hinge is cracked. The text block is mainly clean with a few marks of unknown origin.

Octavo (8 3/4" x 5 1/2") issued in blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine and gilt sailing ship to front cover. Translated by Anthony Mango. Second Series, volumes 138 and 139. First edition.By the early sixteenth century the loosely knit kingdom of Georgia had disintegrated from the strong monarch of the middle ages to a number of small states and principalities. This internal disunity made the Georgians easy victims of the power politics of the neighboring Ottoman and Safavid empires, and by the end of the century the southward drive of the Russians intensified the struggle for military and diplomatic control over the whole of the Caucasian isthmus. As a result of this struggle seventeen embassies were exchanged between the Russian tsars and the Georgian kins ruling in Kakheti during the years 1564-1605. W E D Allen and Anthony…
