This copy has a contemporary cloth spine with no lettering. Yellow endpapers. In very good condition. Professional cloth re-binding to spine. Original cloth boards. Corners bumped and slightly chipped. Some bumps to edges with small nick to front leading edge. A couple of minor marks to cloth. Neat inscription to front endpaper “Charlotte Price 1846.” Binders tape between endpapers. Small chip/tear to bottom edge of front endpaper & prelim. Some minor handling to pages, the odd minor foxing spot, some heavy foxing to one plate “The Mundane System,” else plates clean and bright. A very clean and tight copy. 203pp. plus 28pp.cat. With 3 fold out engraved plates. The author describes Stonehenge and Avebury and develops his theory as to their construction, use and place in the greater scheme of the religious landscape of the Druids, with Silbury Hill being the centre of this. Dated presentation inscription from ‘the author’.

This is an offprint from "Miscellanea Geologica et Heraldica". 10 pages.Contains some excellent black and white photographic plates and some whole page pedigrees. The subtitle states that this account is to illustrate the descent of the Poerhayes and Otterton Estate. A nicely produced family history. In original stone coloured card covers which have a couple of rubber stamps to indicate that the book once belonged to the Yorkshire Archaeological Society. A very scarce item. Very Good. REDUCED POSTAGE ON THIS ITEM.
