New York: American Geographical Society of New York. Very Good- with no dust jacket. 1926. First Edition. Hardcover. Boards show some shelf wear and soiling. Corners somewhat bumped, light fraying head and tail of spine ; A tight solid book, hinges intact. A bookplate on the front pastedown with William Beebe's name on it identifies this as coming from the library of the noted naturalist. A few notations in pencil on the front free end paper may or may not have been written by him. Numerous maps taken from US Hydrographic Office and British Admiralty charts as well as B&W plates throughout the book. ; American Geographical Society. Map Of Hispanic America. Publication #2; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 207 pages; "Charles William Beebe ( July 29, 1877 – June 4, 1962) was an American naturalist, ornithologist, marine biologist, entomologist, explorer, and author. He is remembered for the numerous expeditions he conducted for the New York Zoological Society, his deep dives in the Bathysphere, and his prolific scientific writing for academic and popular audiences." Beebe would have found this book invaluable for planning dives. .
