About This Item

Pittsburgh: Carnegie Institute, 1938. First Printing. Wraps. Very good. Large 8vo, 10 x 8 inches, wraps, very good, light wear. 47 pp, illustrated, a number of b/w plates. Rosenbloom was a businessman and philanthropist, a passionate supporter of the Carnegie Museum and probably the first Jew to sit on its board. He gave the museum a substantial number of artworks and also provided funding. The source of his wealth, it is rumored, came from the illegal sale of alcohol during Prohibition. He was also a passionate Zionist. Uncommon catalog.
