Syracuse, New York: D. Mason & Co., Publishers, 1889. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair. Thick quarto. 2 parts: Historical Section: 491 pages; Biographical Section: 211 pages, [1]. Illustrated with numerous steel engraved tissue protected portraits of prominent Atlanta men. Brown cloth covered boards with illustrated gilt title on the front cover. Gilt title on the spine. All edges gilt. Restored. The dry, cracked, chipped rotted leather spine was trimmed and pasted back down onto a later dark leather spine. Hinges reinforced with linen tape. Previous owner name of Augusta Wylie King, descendant of a pioneer Atlanta family, is written on the front paste down. A pencil note written in the margins of an engraved portrait (R. B. Ridley) opposite page 340. Light foxing to the contents. A paper clipped inscription "Truly your friend, Wallace P. Reed" is pasted down on the front blank end paper. Scarce. Not listed in the Georgia Derenne catalog.
