New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1880. Quite worn but still attractive copy from 1880, illustrated with engravings. Rear cover stained and spotted, some musty odor. Informative Victorian guide to growing strawberries, several types of raspberries, blackberries, currants, etc., illustrated throughout with small engravings. Pine green cloth over beveled boards with lettering and fruit culture designs (strawberries, raspberries, butterfly, farmers) in gilt and black, 311 pages. Edges rubbed and lightly bumped, mainly the corners and spine ends, considerable spotting and blotching from past moisture exposure onrear cover, hinges good, text block sound, free endpapers spotted and chipped or torn, some foxing to first and final pages, pages generally clean with some finger soil to margins and very light occasional foxing, no names or other markings.. Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
