New York: M. W. Dodd, 1853. 1st ed. Hardcover. Good. frontis (portrait), 7 colored lithograph plates (1 folding), xx, 240p. [i.e. 220p.]. Original dark cloth. 19cm. Numerous, mostly small, bits of cover cloth gone. Foxing. Corner stain on plates as well as a few leaves at both ends of book. Goodell identified as a missionary in Constantinople of American Board Commissioners of Foreign Missions. The color plates were produced by an American firm (Sarony & Major). The folding color plate depicts Arabs attacking Goodell's residence in Beirut at the time of the Greek Revolution.
