Very large (12" by 9.25"), very heavy (6.5 lbs), book, olive green cloth, ornate illustration at center front with bright gilt torch, gilt border of flowers and leaves bright on front, gilt dulled on spine with embossed flower around Brewer's name, 384 pages. Tips badly worn, very tiny nicks and very slight wear to spine top edge, 2.25" tear at spine bottom right edge, profusely illustrated with full-page etchings, engravings, early photographs of actors, some tissue-covered on heavier stock as if for framing, all edges gilt. Near Good exterior, contents fine.

Boards are leathr covered with gold lettering on front and spine. Cornered and spine with black leather rest is bown. White vellum endpapers. AEG. Book is solid, clean and tight. Just beautiful photogravures and etchings by Thumann, Dicksee, Dagnan-Bouveret, etc; wood engravings and typogravures by Lange, Dore, ichel, etc.85 total. Almost every one is tissed.
