Contemporary sheep newly rebacked, single pin-hole worm trace in the lower corner of the first 29 leaves, the same in the upper corner of the last 94 leaves, the final few leaves with a fine trace of worming in the fore-edge margin, occasional foxing, overall a very good copy, the worming quite unobtrusive. *With this ink inscription on the front paste-down - 'The Gift of Mrs. Wilkinson of Plas Grono to Mary Peters of Minera July Anno Domini 1804'. The donor was most likely the wife of JOHN WILKINSON (1728 - 1808), a pioneer of the modern, mechanized iron trade.
