The two blank front end pages each with full page manuscript in pencil, the firtst dated Dec. 2nd, 1894, the 2nd, Dec. 2nd, 1944. The first speaks of the value of these poems "to stretch to suit a great grief, and shrink to fit a small one", and the 2nd, a poem by an unknown author that clearly relates to a WW II loss. .
