De la Mare was educated at St. Paul's Cathedral Choir School in London, and from 1890 to 1908 he worked in the London office of the Anglo-American Oil Company. Embossed gilt design and lettering to front board, gilt lettering to spine. Scuffing, denting and marking to boards, with chipping at edges. A little marking to spine. Bumped and torn corners. Binding firm. Page edges browned, very slightly jagged form having been cut but generally neat. Library bookplate to front pastedown. Foxing to endpapers but page surfaces generally clean apart from the odd mark and the library markings, with no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.
