Description:
London: Smith, Elder, & Co. , 1907. Cloth. Good. 7.5" by 5.5". None. A charming edition of this children's book from Mrs Henry de la Pasture, or Lady Clifford. Illustrated with frontispiece, three full page images and many in-text sketches. Collated complete. A charming work of children's fiction confirmed to be "one of the great classics of its genre" by English journalist and novelist Auberon Waugh. Written by Elizabeth Lydia Rosabelle, Lady Clifford, also known as Mrs Henry de la Pasture, an English novelist, dramatist and children's writer best remembered for this work. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light bumping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine. Fading to the spine. The odd small mark to the board. Internally, binding loosening in places with the odd loose page, though all are present. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Good
