The first edition of this work is virtually unobtainable. This is the second edition, also rare, of a fascinating shipwreck narrative, which includes a synopsis of the authors whaling career. Dexters ship was wrecked in the Atlantic. Although the crew was saved, the ship was lost. It was uninsured, and Dexter wrote his pamphlet in an attempt to recover up his losses. Huntress 357 C.
