Spine faded and several small, light smudges on the cloth. Contains the bookplate of well-known Chicago businessman G. George Fox. Lower left bottom corners torn off of the front free endpaper and half-title pages. Small holes in margins of pages 3-6. Otherwise, text clean and binding tight. A scarce historical and sociological study of mixed-race Americans. This copy is inscribed by Embree to well-known Chicago businessman G. George Fox, whose bookplate is on the front pastedown.
