Publisher's hardcover in original metallic effect dust-wrapper. No inscriptions, moderately worn in the foil jacket, which easily shows wear; this copy has the usual and inevitable scratches to the silver surface, plus some rubbing. Very good overall. 15,000 copies. The eye-catching '70s jacket is printed in the 'Dufex' process, whereby a metallic foil is imprinted with a design or image via litho printing. Gilbert E4 (2).

Publisher's granite-coloured hardcovers stamped in gilt, decorated with the author's initials in gilt to cover, plain black endpapers. Absolutely fine/as new. One of a selection of titles by Ian Fleming, uniformly cased in harlequin colours, comprising sheets from the Ian Fleming Centenary Edition in an elegant new hardback binding for 2022. Diamonds Are Forever was praised by the 'Hard-boiled' mystery specialist Raymond Chandler, especially for its genuine American flavour, despite being written by an Etonian Englishman.

Octavo (19 x 11 x 19cm), each in the publisher's soft covers printed with a design celebrating the recent filming of the title. Some browning/toning to the cheap paperstock as expected. Some toning/sunning to spines, reading creases to same, light rubbing in places, owner name to 'Octopussy', ink stamps to 'Golden Gun' and 'The Living Daylights', small area of tip-ex to inside cover of 'Diamonds', remainder free from markings. A very good set, complete in this format; a further Fleming-Bond film tie-in would be issued by Penguin books for 'Casino Royale' (2006), but this was part of the larger-sized 'Modern Classics' series; the film tie-ins for The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker were not written by Fleming, and no UK tie-in was produced for A View To A Kill. Publisher's black vinyl-style cloth-covered boards, lettered in gilt to the spine, in pictorial dust-jacket illustrated by Jerome Kuhl, priced at $3.95. A mis-bound copy, lacking a central gathering, pp.89-120. Jacket is fine. A full-price hardback reissue, published 17th January 1966. These editions appeared briefly in the mid 1960s and were easily outsold by the uniform Book Club editions. Second American Edition. A brand new protective clamshell box for Cape (UK) printings of the novel Diamonds Are Forever, part of a uniform series of James Bond boxes produced by Adrian Harrington. With black cloth covering, rounded spine blocked in gilt, inner trays lined with scarlet red 'suedelle' material. External dimensions 223 x 161 x 45mm. Boxes for all fourteen Ian Fleming James Bond titles are available either individually or at a reduced price for the set. Each title features a gilt motif to spine, related to the plot of the book. Titled in serif type with sans serif text used for the author's name, as Fleming preferred, and accented with the characteristic 'swelled rule' device utilised by Cape. These functional boxes have been designed by Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert.
