Publisher's black leatherette with gilt titles to spine and blue leatherette strips to fore-edges. Top edge blue; fore-edge untrimmed. With the dust-jacket in blue-grey, titled in yellow. A nice clean copy internally, with a couple of marks to boards. Jacket rubbed and chipped to edges, with a sizeable surface tear to spine, affecting titles. Very good. This is the standard American uniform BCE, from the mid-1960s onwards. The last full-length 007 novel, and basis for the 1974 movie starring Roger Moore as James Bond, and Christopher Lee (Fleming's cousin) as Francisco Scaramanga, nicknamed "Pistols" Scaramanga in the novel. The bibliographer's copy, with his pencilled ownership. His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Includes a bonus article 'The Truth About Bond', being an abridged version of Ian Fleming's interview with Roy Newquist for 'Counterpoint'. Octavo (19 x 11), each in the publisher's soft covers printed with a design or notice celebrating the recent filming of the title, edges coloured red or yellow. No ink names or writing, Dr.No has a bookstore stamp and price in pesetas (likely Mexican), cheap paper toned as expected, some general wear to spines and covers. A very good set. Difficult to assembkle; includes the scarce version of 'You Only Live Twice' with the neon pink film label applied. A full set (as published) of the Signet movie tie-ins; the remaining Fleming books were either not issued as tie-ins [e.g. Moonraker, The Spy Who Loved Me] or were released as tie-ins by other publishers [Bantam, Jove and Berkley/Charter]. A very good set, complete in this format; a further Fleming-Bond film tie-in would be issued by Penguin books for 'Casino Royale' (2006), but this was part of the larger-sized 'Modern Classics' series; the film tie-ins for The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker were not written by Fleming, and no UK tie-in was produced for A View To A Kill. A brand new protective clamshell box for Cape (UK) printings of the novel The Man With The Golden Gun, part of a uniform series of James Bond boxes produced by Adrian Harrington. With black cloth covering, rounded spine blocked in gilt, inner trays lined with scarlet red 'suedelle' material. External dimensions 223 x 161 x 45mm. Boxes for all fourteen Ian Fleming James Bond titles are available either individually or at a reduced price for the set. Each title features a gilt motif to spine, related to the plot of the book. Titled in serif type with sans serif text used for theauthor's name, as Fleming preferred, and accented with the characteristic 'swelled rule' device utilised by Cape. These functional boxes have been designed by Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert.
