Genthe's tribute to Duncan, with 24 photogravure plates and published only two years after her death. First Edition. Signed presentation from Genthe on the front endpaper: "To Stella Wanger- with greetings from an old friend- Arnold Genthe, New York, 1929." Stella Wanger [1866-1931] is the mother of famous Hollywood producer Walter Wanger [1894-1968], who launched the careers of many famous stars, including Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Fonda, and Richard Burton. Wanger's sister, Beatrice- a dancer, was the subject of some of Genthe's photographs. Very Good (some spotty light discoloration front cover, contents clean & tight). $500.00.

Genthe first burst on the scene with his photographs of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. He later became known for his celebrity portraits. This was Genthe's fourth book. Isadora Duncan died two years before publication in September of 1927. Unpag. 4to. Black cloth boards with beveled edge, gold embossed titling to cover board and spine; wear and scuffing to cover, small cloth losses at corners, fraying at head and foot of spine. Text block slightly loose to boards but no splitting or separation at gutters. Images sharp and clean.
