Street (1867-1936) was a British writer. He was known for his satirical works that attacked pretentiousness in society, especially among the aesthetes and the upper class. His best known work was his 1894 novel The Autobiography of a Boy. This satirized the contemporary aesthetes Oscar Wilde and Lord Alfred Douglas. The Trials of the Bantocks is another satirical novel told from the perspective of a young struggling writer who is intimately involved with a very well-to-do family of less than impressive heritage.
