Luxury features include moire endpapers, acid neutral paper pages that are sewn (not glued) into the binding, raised bands on the spine, gilded page edges, and a sewn-in satin bookmark. All volumes except Men Without Women and Winner Take Nothing have a shadow of a removed bookplate on the front pastedown. All volumes appear unread except for For Whom The Bell Tolls. For Whom The Bell Tolls has a small amount of previous owner handwritting on the copyright page which appears to be the list of places he was when he read the book. This set is in good plus condition. Gilt lettering and design on most spines is still full and vivid. Gilt on volume I (In Our Time) is faded. Heavy staining and scuffing to all spines. Moderate staining and scuffing to all edges of textblocks. All boards are moderately stained. Vol V and VI heavily stained and scuffed. Vol V has a ring mark on front board probably from a mug or cup. Interior pages are bright and clean.
