Description:
Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, 1963. First Edition. Former ownership label on front free endpaper. Very good in a worn and torn dust jacket. The story of the making of the film The Misfits, written by Arthur Miller and directed by John Huston, a complex drama that was the last film for it’s two lead actors, Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable. Joined by a superb supporting cast including Montgomery Clift, Eli Wallach, Thelma Ritter, and Kevin McCarthy, the story centers on the relationship between a fragile divorcee (Marilyn Monroe) and a brooding cowboy past his prime (Clark Gable). Goode was on set throughout the process of making the film and the book is an excellent first hand account.
