Two minor smudges on rear board, jacket lightly rubbed and toned. 1950 Hard Cover. x, 548 pp. 8vo. Includes a foreword by the author. Originally published in 1920, Women in Love is a sequel to Lawrence's 1915 novel The Rainbow, following the love lives of the Brangwen sisters. It is set in Great Britain preceding World War I, though the story ends up taking its characters as far as the Tyrolean Alps. It was, upon its publication, viewed by many as controversial for its depiction of sexuality.
