Description:
London: William Tegg and Co., 1879. [Epistemology] FINE PRIZE BINDING, a New Edition, revised. Octavo (18 x 13cm), pp.xvi; 664 [2]. With a frontispiece engraving of the author, and a large folding 'analysis' chart of Locke's ideas. Contemporary tan full calf by SETON & MACKENZIE, with raised bands, gilt titles to a black label and further gilt to spine, and the seal of the University of St Andrews stamped in gilt to upper. All edges and endpapers marbled. St Andrews prize plate for Logic and Metaphysics to first blank, filled out in black ink and dated 1881-2. Very occasional minor pencil notation, with some spotting to first and final few leaves, otherwise internally clean. Some toning and wear to spine, including some loss to the headcap. Minor bumping to corners. Very good.
