With twenty six copper engraved plates, including a hand-coloured county map and one further hand-coloured plate. Blue ink ownership inscriptions of Mr. Wade Porteous, a notable book collector and descendant of the Abolitionist Bishop Beilby Porteus, to front pastedown and title page. Neatly rebacked using the original marbled boards, and pink endpapers, new brown calf spine with gilt titles. Some occasional light spotting andsporadic marginalia, some toning around plates. Bindings rubbed to board edges, especially so to the corners, some scuffs to the boards. Very good.

Rib pattern on board edges and gilt floral design surrounding marbled endpapers. Spine has 5 raised bands, similar design plus gilt titles. Owner's bookplate. All edges gilt, latticework diamond pattern incised in the gilt with flowers cut into the lattice spaces. The title page has been professionally replaced with a typed copy and should be easily replaced. The remaining book is otherwise intact and in superb condition. Can send photographs.
